CORONAVIRUS: COURT UPDATE
In Accordance with the Office of Court Administration Directive Dated March 12, 2020, we are not holding in person court appearances at this time.
If you have come into the Court and scheduled a Court Date you will be notified by mail when we resume Court Dates, at the address you provided on your signed paperwork. In some cases the City Prosecutor will Review your case and may send an offer to resolve it without you making an in person appearance.
If assistance is needed or there are questions, call or e-mail the Municipal Court Office (682.237.2990). If a voicemail message is left, make sure to speak slowly and clearly. Please state and spell your name and list a telephone number, and an email address may also be provided for contact if preferred. The Municipal Court Office will try to get back to return communication within 2 business days.
There are online options to handle a Citation by mail or e-mail. Go to ONLINE OPTIONS and CITATION OPTIONS. There is a “Court Forms Library” where forms can be downloaded and sent in with requests along with required documents listed on the Forms. All Forms mailed/e-mailed MUST include copy of Identification.
If the defendant is 17 or older the court cannot speak with anyone but the defendant, they must contact the court. If a defendant is 16 or under, they must appear before the Judge with a parent or Guardian and the court will automatically set for a court date when we resume court, Parent or Guardian may call or e-mail with questions.
Payments will be due within 10 days of the request, unless otherwise requested. Once the paperwork is sent in, you will be sent information on how to pay online, by phone, or mail. The Municipal Court Office will try to accommodate needs as presented. If requests are submitted and staff cannot do it by e-mail/mail you will be e-mailed/mailed a Notification so you can handle it on Court Date setting.
If there is a Compliance Dismissal (Registration, expired driving license or Fail to Maintain Financial Responsibility) staff can make special arraignments to dismiss those by e-mail or mail. Please e-mail email@example.com for information.
If you plan to come into our office in person, please call (682) 237-2990 before doing so to ensure the Municipal Court Office is open and can assist. If the Municipal Court Office is not available and cannot assist you in person, please leave a message or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for instruction on how to handle the citation.
Normal Business hours are 8 am -5 pm (Closed for lunch between 11 am-12 pm) Monday- Friday. A PHONE CALL OR MESSAGE DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN APPEARANCE, if you leave a message or e-mail, it is your responsibility to make sure a response is received. The Municipal Court Office staff will try to get back to you within 2 business days.

Furthermore, the Municipal Court is committed to ensuring all defendants receive fair and impartial treatment and are aware of all options available under state law.
This Municipal Court occupies a unique position within the Texas judicial system. Because it is the judicial branch of municipal government, it has the power to hear Class ’C’ Misdemeanor cases and impose fines. No jail time may be directly imposed, except as punishment for contempt of court. However, when there is willful refusal or neglect to pay assessed fines, the Judge has the power to place an individual in confinement until the fine is either paid in full or served in jail.
Municipal Court’s Jurisdiction
This Municipal Court’s jurisdiction includes the following, which occur within the corporate town limits of Trophy Club and Marshall Creek Park:
- Class C Misdemeanors
- Parking Violations
- School Attendance Violations
- Traffic Violations
- Town Code/Ordinance Violations
