In addition to its program leadership role, the Human Resources Department has the responsibility of ensuring that the town's human resources business is conducted in a manner that is compliant with state and federal rules and regulations. In this role, Human Resources guides and monitors HR activities and transactions in areas such as recruiting, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), labor relations, classification and pay to ensure legal compliance.
Equal Employment Opportunities
The Town of Trophy Club is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring qualified and retaining a highly qualified and diversified workforce. It is the policy of the Town not to discriminate against any person in recruitment, examination, appointment, training, promotion, retention, discipline or any other aspect of Human Resources administration based on an employee’s or applicant’s religious opinions or affiliations, membership or non-membership in employee organizations, or because of race, color, national origin, ancestry, marital status, age, gender, veteran, disability or any other basis prohibited by federal, state, and local laws.
The Town recognizes that drug and alcohol abuse ranks as one the major health problems in the world and adversely affects an employee’s performance and safety on the job. It is necessary and required by law for the Town to provide a drug-free working environment for its employees and the public.
The Town will not hire any applicant for employment found to be engaging in the use or consumption of drugs or abuse of alcohol, unless such drug is prescribed for the user by a licensed physician, and then only if such drug is being used/consumed for the purpose intended. All employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug screen. Any candidate who refuses to submit to a pre-employment drug screen will be removed from consideration of employment with the Town.
Americans with Disabilities
It is the policy of the Town of Trophy Club to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and to ensure that no person is discriminated against based on their disability. The town offers equal employment opportunity to qualified individuals and strictly prohibits the discrimination against qualified individuals on the basis of disability. The town shall provide reasonable accommodations to applicants and employees who are otherwise qualified to perform the essential job duties when doing so does not create an undue hardship for the town.
