The following violations may be dismissible upon compliance:

  • Expired Motor Vehicle Registration
    1. The vehicle registration must be renewed within 20 business days of the date you were cited
    2. You must provide the registration receipt that identifies the vehicle and shows payment of the required penalty fee to the county tax office
    3. IF YOU RENEW ONLINE @ www.texas.gov - CHECK MARK THE BOX PROVIDED TO PAY THE LATE PENALTY
    4. There will be a $20.00 dismissal fee upon compliance
  • Expired Driver’s License / Fail To Change Name or Address on Driver’s License
    1. The license must be renewed or corrected within 20 business days of the date you were cited
    2. You must provide the proof of renewal or update along with a $20.00 dismissal fee upon compliance
  • Fail To Display Driver’s License
    1. You must produce proof  the driver’s license was valid within 20 business days of the date you were cited
    2. There will be a $10.00 dismissal fee upon compliance
  • Defective Equipment-MUST BE REMEDIED BEFORE THE FIRST COURT APPEARANCE DATE
    Equipment violations may include but are not limited to: 

    • No or Defective Stop Lamps / Tail Lamps

    • Defective Tires

    • No License Plate Lamp

    • No or Defective Brakes / Headlights
    • No Parking Lamps

    • Illegal Window Tint

    • Missing or Obstructed License Plate
      1. You must present proof of the equipment being fixed – receipt / pictures before your initial appearance date on the citation
      2. There will be a $10.00 dismissal fee upon compliance
      3. This dismissal provision does not apply to any violation involving a commercial motor vehicle
