On Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. the Trophy Club Police Department will be accepting expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications from Trophy Club residents’ medicine cabinets. The program is anonymous for participants and all medications collected will be destroyed.
Residents can drop off unwanted medicines at the OLD Trophy Club Police Station, located at 100 Municipal Drive.
Participants may dispose of medication in its original container or by removing it from the container and disposing of it directly into the disposal box. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain in the original container with the cap tightly sealed.
Note: Intravenous solutions, injectibles, and syringes will not be accepted
due to the potential hazard of blood-borne pathogens.
Coordinated by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), this collaborative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies focuses on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation’s homes. A national take-back day provides a unified opportunity for the public to surrender unwanted drugs in a safe, reliable manner. This one-day effort will bring national focus to the issue of pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse. The DEA will retrieve the boxes of disposed pharmaceuticals for destruction once the event has concluded.
Illegal drugs, or containers of such substances, will not be accepted and should not be brought for disposal.
