The Parks and Recreation Department is introducing new programming for residents and friends age 50+ – the Trophy Club Travelers!  Our first trip will be to Canton, TX for the famous First Monday Trade Days.  The timing of this trip is perfect for you to knock out your holiday shopping!  Please register online or by calling 682-831-4603.  The fee to register is $35, which covers a seat on a chartered bus and snacks during the ride.

On Tuesday, October 22, Trophy Club volunteers gathered at the Fire Station for dinner and comradery, as well as to receive recognition, thanks and gratitude from Town and TC MUD 1 staff and elected officials for all the hard work contributed over the past year. A Denton man is in custody for the July 5th Bank Robbery at the DATCU Credit Union located in the lobby of the Tom Thumb in Trophy Club. An arrest warrant was served on Richard Huntley Chiles, 53 of Denton yesterday charging him with Aggravated Robbery. Chiles is in custody at the Collin County Jail in lieu of $450,000.00 bond for the Trophy Club Bank Robbery and $400,000.00 bond for a similar bank robbery that occurred at a store bank in Allen, Texas in mid September.

The Denton Central Appraisal District is accepting applications from Denton County residents who are interested in serving on the Denton Appraisal Review Board (ARB). Applications are due by Friday, November 15, 2013. To serve on the ARB, residents must currently reside in Denton County and have lived within the county for at least two years. The meeting schedule is fairly rigorous from late May through July, but more information, including the application, is available in the informational packet.

A concerned Trophy Club resident recently came to the police station because she had received a voicemail form a person who claimed to be a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Agent with a warrant for her arrest and a search warrant for her property. She believed the call to be suspicious because she has not been involved in anything that would warrant a DEA inquiry and it didn’t’ sound plausible that the DEA would tell her that they had a warrant for her as opposed to simply coming to get her and executing the search warrant.
