Whenever you are not in your vehicle, you are a pedestrian! Pedestrian safety in Trophy Club is essential to preventing injuries and fatalities, especially with the constant traffic and active resident lifestyle in town. Many children walk to school or a friend’s house and crosswalks are sometimes busy with traffic coming and going. Drivers must coexist with cyclists, walkers, runners and anyone enjoying the outdoors to ensure that Trophy Club roadways remain safe and incident free.

Trophy Club Police Department Installs New Dashboard Video System

The Trophy Club Police Department recently upgraded the police camera system in all four patrol vehicles to the Watch Guard 4RE Digital Video system. The change in camera systems only cost the Town approximately $6,000, since the Denton County Sheriff's Office contributed approximately $25,000 toward the new camera system. Watch Guard is a highly regarded manufacturer of law enforcement products and holds 25% of the market share for police camera systems in the United States. The Trophy Club Town Council recently approved exploring the potential creation of two Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones (TIRZ) in order to increase economic development opportunities in town. There are many benefits to establishing a TIRZ in the community and Trophy Club's current position is prime for development within the proposed TIRZ areas. Benefits include an increase in value of surrounding real estate, increased sales tax, new jobs and of course, it provides an incentive for investors to build commercial developments in Trophy Club.

The Dallas Morning News (DMN) recently published the areas 10 Healthiest Neighborhoods and, although Trophy Club did not make the list, the Town was certainly well represented. The 10 healthiest communities were ranked according to four key factors:

  • Walking and biking trails
  • Pollution
  • Exercise facilities
  • Availability of healthy food

The following Development Update was presented at the May 20, 2013 Town Council meeting.

At only 4.2 square miles, the Town of Trophy Club is on pace to be 99% developed by 2017. Currently, the Town is 91.6% built out with 227 acres remaining for residential and commercial development. June is Speed Awareness Month - SLOW DOWN IN TOWN

Speeding has become a safety issue in Trophy Club neighborhoods and in order to maintain a safe and secure community, drivers must SLOW DOWN IN TOWN. The Town is launching a month-long speeding awareness campaign that will focus on educating drivers regarding the risks and dangers involved in speeding. The goal is to ensure that drivers adhere to the posted 30 mile per hour speed limit throughout town and reduce speed within neighborhoods when appropriate.
