Join us Tuesday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building (100 Municipal Dr.) as we recognize outgoing Councilman Glenn Strother for his years of dedicated service to the Town and welcome & administer the Oath of Office to incoming Councilman Greg Lamont. We will also canvass (certify) the May 11, 2013 election returns.

The first reported human case of West Nile Virus (WNV) in Denton County appeared in June 2012 and within three months the Denton County Health Department (DCHD) confirmed two human cases of WNV in Trophy Club (August 2012). Human WNV cases popped up in cities all over North Texas forcing many municipalities to make a challenging decision regarding aerial spraying for mosquitoes (Trophy Club opted in for aerial spraying). In 2012 Denton County reported 184 total human cases and two deaths caused by the disease.

On Monday, April 22 the Town Council approved a bid from Jamail & Smith Construction for $97,964.74 to rehab the Trophy Club Police Department building that was damaged in February from a sewage leak underneath the building. Jamail & Smith Construction was awarded the project by Town Council after submitting a competitive bid with an aggressive timeline for rehabbing the building. The thirty-two day project began May 7, 2013 and addressed the major sewage leak found under the patrol room by raking lime into the contaminated soil.  The…

Kriya Hotel’s new Hampton Inn and Suites Trophy Club rolled out the red carpet, hosting a tremendously successful grand opening on May 2, 2013. Among the approximately 200 guests in attendance were representatives from the Southlake Chamber of Commerce, Keller Chamber of Commerce and Northwest Metroport Chamber of Commerce, as well as other dignitaries from the city government and the region. New Playground to Open by the End of Summer!

A new dinosaur-themed playground will be installed this summer in order to serve families with young to school-age children. Located at the end of Trophy Club Drive, the covered playground is adjacent to Trophy Club Park and will offer trail connectivity to the nearby neighborhoods for easy access. The playground includes seating and at least one table for parents.

The T-Rex playground draws on the imagination as children can climb and explore the giant skeleton bones of the prehistoric behemoth. Two decks provide look out points for…
