The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) plans to start the SH 114 expansion project later this year, which also includes two sections of sound wall to help buffer highway traffic noise. The Texas Department of State Health Services has reported the first case of Zika virus disease contracted in Texas, with the possibility of sexual transmission from an infected person who had recent travel history from areas where Zika is currently being transmitted. Primary transmission of all previous cases in Texas has been related to foreign travel. At this time, there have been no cases of Zika virus contracted or imported into Denton County.

Trophy Club is making history as the first municipality in the state of Texas to achieve an investment grade rating on a Public Improvement District (PID) bond and to realize over $16.4M in total savings with a subsequent refinancing. The $16.4M refund for PID residents results in approximately $11,675 savings in future assessments over the life of the bond to each property owner who had not previously paid off their assessments. Update (December 2, 2015) --- Denton County Health Department officials have confirmed two human cases of West Nile Virus (WNV) in Trophy Club. One resident lives on Pebble Beach and the other lives on Sherwood, and both contracted the milder form of the virus (West Nile fever). Officials believe the individuals were likely bit in October and diagnosed in November.
So far in 2015 Denton County has eight (9) confirmed human cases and Trophy Club has two (2) of those cases.
