The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a Public Meeting for the purpose of soliciting public comment on the proposed widening of State Highway (SH) 114 from Trophy Lake Drive to Kirkwood Boulevard, and SH 170 from East of Roanoke Road to West of SH 114 Interchange, in Denton and Tarrant County, Texas.

The 2016 National Drug Take Back event is Saturday, April 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the Trophy Club Police Department will accept expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications from Trophy Club residents’ medicine cabinets. Residents can drop off the unwanted medicines at the police station located at 100 Municipal Drive. The program is anonymous for participants and all medications collected will be destroyed.

Trophy Club Secures First PID Refinancing in Texas History, Saves Residents $16M

Trophy Club is making history as the first municipality in the state of Texas to achieve an investment grade rating on a Public Improvement District (PID) bond and to realize over $16.4M in total savings with a subsequent refinancing. The $16.4M refund for PID residents results in approximately $11,675 savings in future assessments over the life of the bond to each property owner who had not previously paid off their assessments. As planning for the new Trophy Club Town Hall moves forward, the Town Council has begun to examine possible uses for the Annex (Public Services) Building where the majority of Town Staff currently office. Council is looking to the future and how the building could best serve the citizens, including converting the structure into a community space, such as meeting rooms, classroom space or a senior activity center. Update (January 13, 2016) --- The Town Council took action at the January 12, 2016 Council meeting supporting Town Manager Stephen Seidel to move forward with engaging an executive recruiter to begin the search for the new Fire Chief.  According to the ‘Interlocal Agreement for Fire Department Personnel Services’ between the Town and Trophy Club Municipal Utility District No. 1 (TC MUD), Fire Department staff are Town employees, including the Fire Chief, thus it is the Town’s responsibility to hire Fire Chief Thomas’ replacement. Beginning on January 1, 2016, H.B. 910 will allow a person with a current concealed handgun license, or a person who obtains the new “license to carry a handgun,” to carry a handgun in a concealed manner or openly in a belt or shoulder holster. The rules related to where and when a license holder may openly carry are essentially identical to where and when a concealed handgun license holder can carry under current law. Of course, those rules remain complicated.
